Two Russian officials: American and Turkish occupation of Syrian lands is a crime according to the international law, UN Charter

On December 19th, head of the Tourism Industry Development Committee in the Russian State Duma Sangachi Tarbaev affirmed  that the presence of the American and Turkish occupation forces on Syrian territory constitutes a crime according to the rules of the international law and to the United Nations Charter.

“The American and Turkish occupation of Syrian lands are working to destroy the infrastructure of the tourism industry in Syria, by stealing artifacts that are abundant in Syria’s ancient history,” Tarbaev said in an interview with SANA correspondent in Moscow.

Tarbaev stressed that the US interference in Syria’s internal affairs is a translation of barbarism and the policy of brute force in the absence of international law and international norms.

In a similar interview, member of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights and member of the Presidency for National Relations Affairs Alexander Broad denounced the United States’ continued aggressive plans against Syria with the aim of dominating the entire Middle East region and subjecting it to its direct control.

He condemned the United States’ continued imposition of its unilateral coercive measures on the Syrian people, the looting of its natural wealth and strategic crops, and the obstruction of the reconstruction process.

The Russian official pointed out that the aggressive policy pursued by the ruling circles in the United States violates the rules of the international law.
