On December 18th, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry in the Republic of Sudan, Dr. Abu Bakr Omar Al-Bishri, met with Dr. Nasr Al-Din Al-Obeid, Director General of the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands “ACSAD”, at the center’s headquarters in Damascus.
The two sides discussed ways to develop cooperation relations and implement joint projects, Sudan’s initiative for food security and ACSAD’s contribution to supporting this initiative and benefiting from its experiments and scientific research.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Obeid gave a presentation on the plans and programs of the center to support the efforts of Arab countries in sustainable development, especially in Sudan.
He stressed ACSAD’s readiness to put all its capabilities and expertise in the service of the programs and projects at the Sudanese Ministry of Agriculture and Forests disposal in a way that meets its aspirations and future plans for the development of the agricultural sector in it.
For his part, Minister Al-Bishri praised ACSAD’s efforts and its role in achieving food and water security at the Arab level, and its scientific and practical achievements.
He expressed his hope in strengthening and developing cooperation relations between the two sides.
The meeting, was attended by the Sudanese ambassador to Syria, Dr. Tariq Al-Tom.
