Russian official: Providing Greece with arms to Ukraine would pose a threat to its interests
On December 18th, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Republic of Crimea, Georgi Muradov, warned of the danger of the Greek authorities’ announcement of supplying the Ukrainian regime with “S-300” anti-aircraft missile systems.
“This step by Athens will not only be a display of hostility towards Russia, but will also endanger Greece’s security and undermine its defense capabilities,” Novosti agency quoted Muradov as saying.
He said that Russia provided Greece and Cyprus with these missile systems at the end of the last century based on the friendly relations it had with them.
During a meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that any country that sends weapons to Ukraine becomes a party to the conflict.
