A stand in Nablus calls for saving the lives of sick Palestinian prisoners

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – Dozens of Palestinians today called on the international community and human rights institutions to urgently intervene to save the lives of sick Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

Wafa News Agency stated that the participants in the vigil, which was organized in the city of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, raised Palestinian flags, pictures of sick prisoners, and banners denouncing the deliberate medical negligence, violations and brutal practices they are subjected to, led by the two prisoners suffering from cancer, Nasser Abu Hamid and Walid Daqqa.

The coordinator of the Supreme National Committee for Prisoners Support in Nablus, Muzaffar Thouqan said: The prisoners are suffering from difficult conditions as a result of the continued violations of the occupation against them. The occupation prevented the prisoners from receiving the necessary treatment and continuing to harass them in violation of all international conventions, especially the Fourth Geneva Convention.

About 5,000 Palestinian prisoners inside the occupation detention centers face harsh conditions of detention, including about 600 who need urgent medical intervention, led by Nasser Abu Hamid, who entered a very critical stage three days ago as a result of the exacerbation of cancer, while the occupation authorities continue their intransigence and refuse to release him.
