Sabbagh: Need to develop parliamentary relations between the Syrian People’s Assembly and the Iranian Shura Council
Damascus, (ST) – Hamouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the People’s Assembly affirmed the depth of the strong and rooted Syrian-Iranian relations, which have reached high levels of political and parliamentary coordination, the matter that has achieved common interests and goals in order to defend their just causes.
During his meeting with the Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs, Ali Reza Beekdli, and the accompanying delegation, Sabbagh pointed out the necessity of developing parliamentary relations between the Syrian People’s Assembly and the Iranian Shura Council. He stressed the need of exchanging experiences between the Syrian People’s Assembly and the Iranian Shura Council to achieve more coordination and improve joint parliamentary power.
Sabbagh referred to the common position of the two countries and the support each has given to the other in forums and international and regional conferences.
For his part, Beekdli stressed that the relations between the two countries enjoy strong and solid infrastructure, pointing out that his visit to Syria includes coordination with various institutions to facilitate the means of transportation of the nationals of the two countries. “This matter requires the parliaments to work to take joint steps and benefit from the energies and capabilities of each other to achieve a better benefit in the future”, he added.
