New York (ST): Russia called for an end to the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine and an end to the war crimes committed against civilians by Ukrainian forces. This came, according to RIA Novosti, during an official document circulated by the Permanent Mission of Russia to the United Nations in the Security Council and the General Assembly, accompanied by evidence of the bombing by Kiev forces of the civilian population in Donbas.
The first deputy of the Russian representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, said in a publication: “In preparation for the meeting of the Security Council regarding the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine, we distributed as an official document in the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly a letter from the Donetsk public organization “Just Protection” regarding the bombing of the Ukrainian armed forces of the civilian population in Donbas, and special focus has been placed on the intense bombing this week.”
He added: The document “calls on the Security Council to consider taking immediate measures to prevent the Ukrainian armed formations from committing war crimes, as well as the inadmissibility of supplying Ukraine with the relevant types of heavy weapons that lead to this.”
The Russian document contains pictures and descriptions of the bombing of peaceful homes by the Ukrainian side in Donbas, particularly in the city of Donetsk.
Today, the UN Security Council will hold a meeting on the issue of Western arms supplies to Kiev.
