Palestinian Foreign Ministry calls on international community to protect educational institutions

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community and the relevant United Nations organizations, led by UNESCO, to shoulder their responsibilities in providing protection for Palestinian educational institutions, their teaching staff and students, and to guarantee their right to freedom, movement, education and access to their schools in safety and peace.

In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ attempt to lower the Palestinian flag from the roof of Al-Laban Secondary School for Girls, south of Nablus, at dawn today, stressing that it is an attack that falls within the framework of the occupation’s attempts to Judaize education, annex the West Bank, and fight all forms of Palestinian presence in it.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the occupation targets Palestinian educational institutions, especially those located on the roads used by settlers or those located in areas threatened with seizure and which are subject to the worst forms of ethnic cleansing, as is the case in Masafer Yatta in the city of Hebron and in the northern Jordan Valley.
