Moscow, (ST) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko affirmed that all attempts to exclude Russia from the G20 are doomed to failure.
Commenting on the draft of the new defense budget for the United States, Grushko told reporters during the annual international forum “Primakov Readings” on Wednesday that we see that the West is currently aiming to isolate Russia, and it will fail, just as attempts to exclude Russia from various international organizations and meetings have failed.
Grushko added that “we saw these attempts on the eve of the Bali summit in Indonesia. These attempts failed and they are not supported by most countries in the world.” He pointed out that Russia deals very seriously with everything the United States does.
The draft law of the new US defense budget, which was approved by the committees of both houses of Congress, and was published yesterday, includes a clause stating that Washington will work to expel Russia from a number of international organizations, including the Group of Twenty(G20).
In another context, Grushko expressed Moscow’s concern about the accumulation of Russian oil tankers near the Bosphorus Strait off the Turkish coast.
Grushko said that Russia is concerned about the situation, as the issue is now being discussed through transport and insurance companies. He pointed out that if the problem is not resolved, of course it will be raised to the political level.
