Russia, China to enhance bileteral cooperation

Moscow, (ST) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov and Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of the People’s Republic of China to Russia Zhang Hanhui on Wednesday exchanged views on pressing issues.

The two sides discussed coordinating efforts on international platforms, in particular at the United Nations.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that during the talks, positive developments in Russian-Chinese cooperation in the areas of international information security and combating terrorism were noted. The need for further building dialogue and joint efforts was also emphasized.

The Foreign Ministry added that the two sides expressed their determinatimon to continue strengthening bilateral cooperation based on the principles of the UN Charter , foremost of which is the equality of sovereignty between states and in accordance with the spirit of strategic partnership stipulated in the Russian-Chinese agreements at the highest levels.
