Damascus, (ST) -Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad met today with the UN Chief’s Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen and his accompanying delegation.
The two sides reviewed the latest developments in Syria and the region.
Pedersen reviewed the results of his tours and meetings during the past period, and the efforts he has exerted within the framework of the mandate entrusted to him.
In turn, Minister Al-Mikdad said that the main challenges facing Syria are represented in the destructive impacts left by terrorism and the unilateral coercive measures on the Syrian economy and on the lives of the Syrians, as well as in the continuity of the illegal presence of the American and Turkish forces on Syrian land in a flagrant violation of the Syrian sovereignty and the international law.
