Homs (ST): Various handmade products for more than eighty women, were included in the “Afkar 6” (Ideas 6) bazaar, which opened yesterday in the Homs Grand Hotel, and will continue for three days. The bazaar displayed hundreds of pieces of art and dozens of small projects from Homs and other governorates.
The bazaar organizer Nora Al-Rifai stated in a statement to SANA news reporter that the event exhibits a variety of handmade products, clothes, and eastern and western sweets made by eighty participants, indicating that the bazaar aims to support small projects and that the prices are acceptable.
For her part, Malak Abbas, Director of Homs Tourism, indicated that the bazaar carries a message of support for women and it is a place for marketing and promoting women’s products of different kinds, and it encourages traditional crafts to preserve them from extinction.
In turn, the head of Homs Chamber of Commerce Iyad al-Sibai affirmed that the products displayed in the bazaar prove the ability and distinction of Syrian women, referring to the participation of several associations and distinguished crafts and professions.
Najla Al-Zoubi, one of the participants, said that she contributed to the event through several hand-made products, including making notebooks, cards, office work and others, noting that her work via the Internet is an opportunity to introduce her products and enter the labor market.
