(Butterfly trail does not vanish) … Handmade products exhibition for 18 women in Aleppo

In partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), 18 women participated in the exhibition “Butterfly trail does not vanish” for handicrafts and products, which is being held by Al-Ihsan Development Charity Association for two days at the Al-Adiyat Association in Aleppo.

Many kinds of handicrafts, embroideries, paintings on pottery and ceramics, etamines, beadwork, food, pastries, and sweets that the Aleppian cuisine is famous for are displayed in the exhibition.

In a statement to SANA, the Director of the Women’s Support and Empowerment Centre of the Association, Hala Muhyiddin, explained that the exhibition is within the framework  of the 16-day campaign against gender-based violence, noting that the Association is working on carrying out vocational training courses in various manual occupations for the participating women, as well as courses in marketing skills and encouraging them to enter the labor market.

The exhibition supervisor Alaa Marestawi stated that the exhibition is the culmination of the courses held in the association, stressing that work is being done to secure different professions for women as well as to upgrade their practical skills and enable them to carry out their own projects.

Participants noted that the exhibition is an opportunity to promote their work and enhance their self-confidence, as well as offer their products to people, expressing their pleasure to benefit from the training courses they have undergone that have contributed to the development of their practical skills.
