The Health Ministry on Sunday will launch an oral vaccination campaign against cholera in the Syrian provinces of Aleppo, Hasakah, Raqqa and Deir Ezzor.
The campaign, which will last until December 15th, targets all people who are more than 1-year old.
The vaccination campaign will be carried out through 63 health centers and 685 mobile medical teams and by 2269 members of the healthcare staff, Director of the ministry’s Preliminary Health Care Department Razan Al-Tarabishi said.
“The vaccine is safe and accredited in all parts of the world and it proved to be successful and effective,” according to Al-Tarabishi.
Dr. Al-Tarabishi stressed that the epidemic situation of cholera in Syria is under control and it is witnessing a decline, pointing out that using water, having food from safe sources and abiding by general health rules are the main elements of protection against this disease.
