Damascus (ST): With the participation of more than 400 cyclists, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Damascus held a sports cycling parade on the occasion of the 51st National Day of the UAE, in cooperation with the General Sports Federation.
The march started in front of the embassy headquarters in Damascus towards Arnous Square, passing through Pakistan Street, then the Governorate Square, passing through the Victoria Bridge, Marjah Square, and the Umayyad Square, then Mezzeh Highway and back to the Umayyad Square, to end at the embassy headquarters, where the participants were crowned.
Chargé d’Affaires of the United Arab Emirates Embassy, Abdul Hakim Al-Nuaimi, said in a statement: “The cycling parade is a sporting activity that falls within the activities and events held by the embassy on the occasion of the UAE National Day, and indicates the deep-rooted fraternal relationship between Syria and the Emirates, and their two brotherly peoples.”
The President of the Cycling Federation, Khaled Kokesh, in turn, drew attention to the great participation in the procession of the various practitioners of the game in a number of provincial clubs, national team players and a number of volunteers, indicating that the event is a message of love to the brothers in the UAE, and reflects brotherhood and celebration of this national day.
