The Foreign Ministry responds to a statement by the European Union on chemical weapons: an attempt to mislead the international community

Damascus (ST): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed that the statement issued by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy on chemical weapons is an attempt to mislead the international community, reaffirming that Syria has not and will not use such weapons ever.

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement: “Some Western countries and representatives of the European Union persist in misleading the international community about the use of chemical weapons by countries such as Syria and Russia, with the sole aim of distorting the image of these two countries and covering up their exploitation of such a file to serve their colonial goals and covering up the crimes committed by these parties against many peoples of the world.

It added: “These weapons were invented in Europe and were used by some European countries and the United States of America in many parts of the world, and the representatives of the European Union cannot hide behind these lies because their use of these weapons in particular, and nuclear weapons in general, in various parts of the world, expose their hypocrisy .

The Foreign Ministry concluded: Syria affirms that it has not and will not use such weapons in its history and that those who used them in Syria are terrorist groups and Western intelligence services, and it also affirms that it refuses to use these weapons anywhere and at any time.
