Syrian Arab army carries out successful strikes against terrorists—mortar attacks kill one, wound 27
PROVINCES,(ST)_Units of the armed forces have confiscated Israeli-made weapons, nabbed terrorists and further destroyed several arms depots belonging to terrorists who kill and wound citizens in daily mortar attacks nationwide.
The Israeli- made weapons were seized today in the western quarter of Tal kalkh city in central Homs province, a military source said, noting that the armed forces eliminated many terrorists in al-Khaledeyeh town, al-Zara farms and near electricity station in al-Dar al-Kabira town.
The source added that two smuggling conduits were destroyed in Bab Sba’ quarter and many terrorists were crushed in Joret al-Shayyah, al-Hamedeyeh, Bab Hod quarters.
“An army unit destroyed a rocket launcher and heavy machine gun-equipped vehicle to the north-west of Kafr Nan and mowed down an armed terrorist group trying to attack town of Qnayet al-Asi in al-Rastan city,” the military source said.
Hama province
Meanwhile, it was said that the armed forces nabbed an armed terrorist group and confiscated a quantity of C-4 material in an ambush in Jnan town in eastern Hama countryside as well as shelled bomb-making factory in al-Bweda town in northern countryside of the same province (Hama).
Idlib province
More weapons were destroyed and an unknown number of terrorists died when the armed forces bombarded terrorist groupings in Qatron, al-Alyeh, al-Tayebat , Haj Hammod farm, Kwerin, Em Jrin, al-Za’alaneh areas in Idlib province.
On Idlib-alMastomeh road, the armed forces defused 4 explosive devices weighing 25-30 kg/ each.
Der Ezzour province
In another development, an official source said: “the armed forces destroyed a smuggling conduit and an arms dump in al-Erfi and al-Hamedeyeh quarters and clashed with an armed terrorist group in al-Hwiqa quarter in Der Ezzour province.”
It added that the armed forces pounded two hideouts of terrorists belonging to the so-called “Em al-Qora” brigade and “Faisal al-Ka’edi” brigade in al-Jbeleh quarter.
More hideouts were obliterated in quarters of the old airport, al-Reshdeyeh, al-Sena’a, al-Sheikh Yasin, and al-Ardi and at squares of al-Halabeyeh and al-Ma’amel, according to the same source.
The source cited that a terrorist grouping was targeted in Hatlet Foqani town where 20 terrorists perished.
Aleppo province
However, in northern Aleppo province, the armed forces destroyed rocket launchers and weapons-laden cars for terrorists, who are being defeated, in the western and eastern countryside.
Damascus countryside
From north to south of the country, precisely in Damascus countryside, it was reported that the armed forces launched what has been described by an official source as ‘successful’ operations in several areas in northern and southern countryside as well as in the heart of the eastern Ghouta.
The official source said that 17 terrorists were eliminated in Barzeh and Jobar suburbs and others were hammered in Harasta, Zamalka and Duma suburbs.
The said suburbs are located just few kilometers to the north and north-east of Damascus.
In the same direction (north), the armed forces struck terrorist groupings in Adra, Jayrud, Yabrud, al-Nabk, Der Atiyah, and Ma’aloula where a host of terrorists, mostly of non-Syrian nationalities, were killed.
They also raided terrorist groupings and weapons in al-Qasemeyeh town in the eastern Ghouta.
Well over 20 terrorists died there.
While in the southern direction of Damascus countryside, a fierce fighting flared up between an army unit and armed terrorists group in Hajjira town amid reports of carrying out a series of successful operations in Sbeneh and Yalda towns.
The death toll of terrorists in the operation was not reported.
20 Shells hit Damascus and Homs
In a separate incident, terrorists fired more than 20 mortar shells on 6 residential areas in Damascus, Damascus countryside and Homs provinces.
At least a citizen was martyred and 27others wounded in the mortar attacks, according to the official news agency.
The shells hit areas of al-Abbaseyen, Bab Sharqi, al-Qassa’a, al-Qadam in Damascus province and al-Wafedin camp in Damascus countryside as well as al-In’shaat quarter in Homs.
Over the past months, terrorists have perpetrated savage crimes against citizens and soldiers and wreaked havoc in restive areas across the country.
