Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Mohammad Hassan Qatana and Head of the Economic Committee at the Iranian-Syrian People’s Friendship Committee Hasan Shakhsi on Wednesday discussed cooperation in exchanging agricultural products and technologies between Syria and Iran.
Qatana highlighted Syria’s needs of fertilizers, fodders and tractors, noting a surplus in some Syrian agricultural products of high quality that can be exported to Iran or exchanged with Iranian products needed in the Syrian markets.
He stressed the importance of coordination among parties concerned from both sides to implement a program for cooperation according to a specified schedule.
Shakhsi, for his part, said that mutual visits and continuous contacts between Syrian and Iranian sides are very important for proposing ideas and overcoming all the obstacles that face the signing of the ratified contracts.
