Syrian-Omani talks to enhance cooperation in media field

Syria’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Idris Maya, discussed today with Omani Minister of Information, Dr. Abdullah Al-Harassi, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the media field to serve the interests of both countries.

Ambassador Maya referred to the fierce media war that Syria has been subjected to since the early days through hundreds of TV channels, newspapers, as well as social networks, indicating the great efforts made by the Syrian media to confront this war and refute its allegations and fabrications.

He also praised the constructive role played by many of the brotherly and friendly media, especially the Omani, which adopted an objective and transparent line, and shed light on the crimes committed by armed terrorist organizations and those supporters.

Ambassador Maya reviewed the latest developments in the situation in Syria and the difficult economic situation in it, resulting from the repercussions of the terrorist war and the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by America and Western countries, which affected various sectors. He noted that Washington’s theft of Syrian resources of oil, gas, wheat, cotton and others, caused increasingly difficult economic conditions.

In turn, Dr. Al-Harassi reiterated his country’s positions in support of Syria, pointing out that his country realized since the early days of the beginning of the events in Syria that the real goals of this war were the destruction of Syrian civilization and all that it achieved during the past years in all fields.

Al-Harassi expressed his country’s readiness to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Omani and Syrian media, to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

The meeting was attended by Counselor at the Embassy Fattouh Qudsiya and First Secretary Muhammad Yahya.
