PROVINCES,(ST)_The number of safe areas outside Aleppo and Damascus provinces have reached up to 63 in just five days as the armed forces have scored strategic victories against foreign-backed terrorists in all axes.

Following restoration of stability and security to 20 towns in Aleppo province and to Hama-Aleppo road through the strategic Khanaser area, the armed forces reportedly imposed control over more than 40 towns in the same province and destroyed several conduits there.

All terrorist groups were defeated from the towns  located in the southeastern countryside of Aleppo.

A military source was quoted on the official news agency as saying:” The armed forces confiscated, in the towns, a chunk of heavy machine guns, mortars, rocket launchers and Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs), and defused 600 anti-tank mines and 1500 explosive devices.”

It made it clear that around 23 hideouts of terrorist groups belonging to more than 14 brigades and 4 battalions were pounded in an area located between Khanaser and Sfira towns.

The source cited that Tal al-Hamam, Tal Bsis, Tal Khanaser, Tal al-Qerbateyeh, Tal al-Za’aror, Abo al-Kroz Mountain, and Syriatel summit were among the towns which became safe today.

It added that the armed forces shelled terrorist groupings in 7 towns- Manbej, al-Sfira, Maskaneh, Tal Hajeb, Abdo Mousa, al-Hejara al-Kabira, al-Hejara al-Saghera -where many terrorists were killed and injured.

More terrorist groupings were wiped out in al-Saqqi farms, to the east of al-Nabk area and in towns of Sbeneh, al-Bweda, Hajjira and al-Qasemeyeh outside Damascus province.

An unknown number of terrorists, mostly from al-Nusra Front, died in the said areas and an arms dump was destroyed in al-Saqqi farms.

Talfita town under army control

On the other hand, the armed forces took control of Talfita town and surrounding area in northern Damascus countryside and continued fighting terrorists in areas f al-Qabon, Barzeh and Jobar, just few kilometers to the north -east to the capital [Damascus].

They also dismantled 3 booby-traps- weighing 15-25 kg/each- which were planted by terrorists in Zamalka junction.

While in the restive al-Moaddameyeh area- around 16km to the south-west of Damascus- the Syrian army opened safe route for citizens to leave the area, according to the Beirut-based al-Mayadeen TV. Channel.

In a further development, the armed forces eliminated large numbers of terrorists in more than 21 areas outside Lattakia, Idlib, Daraa and al-Hassaka provinces.

Shells and RPGs hit residential areas

The terrorists, who are being inflicted big losses on the ground, have intensified their attacks on citizens everywhere.

Today, they fired shells and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) on al-Nezha and al-Adawi quarters in central Homs province and on Governorate’s building in southern Daraa province as well as on Jaramana area outside Damascus.

At least 6 citizens were martyred and several others wounded in the terrorist attacks that left serious damages at the scenes, media reports said.

Note: We use the term ‘martyrdom’ for citizens who are killed in terrorist attacks because they scarified something of great value and especially life itself for the sake of noble principles (for example: Homeland defense and rejection of terrorism..etc).
