Lavrov: BRICS is a model of true multilateral diplomacy

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed today that the BRICS group, which includes Russia, China, India, Brazil and South Africa, is a model of true multilateral diplomacy that meets the new realities.

Russia Today website quoted Lavrov as saying during the Fourth International BRICS Plus Forum in St. Petersburg today: “We welcome the interest of the participants in this forum, whether from the five countries or from the participating countries of Asia, Central and South America, in developing diversified cooperation with our group, and this is not surprising because work within its framework is based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and justice,” describing the group as “embodying the synergy of cultures and civilizations that represent the various countries of the earth.”

Lavrov considered that the BRICS Plus international forum is a needed and dynamically developing platform for interaction between local and regional authorities and the business community.
