President al-Assad receives a message from President Lukashenko

President Bashar al-Assad received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus, Roman Golovchenko, and his accompanying delegation.

Golovchenko delivered to President al-Assad a message from President Alexander Lukashenko on the friendly relations between Syria and Belarus and prospects for developing bilateral cooperation.

President al-Assad said that this visit is important not only in terms of the bilateral agreements that were signed between the two countries, but also in order to discuss specific areas of cooperation and launch them in a practical way and achieve a breach in them, and move forward in relations and establish joint investment projects that benefit both sides.

President al-Assad indicated that Belarus is being targeted because of its strategic location in the heart of Europe and the independence of its decisions and policies, stressing that the West is pursuing a policy of waging wars so that it can continue because if these wars stop, the system of domination will disintegrate, considering that they have failed to achieve their goals through this policy in many countries such as Syria, Russia and Belarus, so they moved to economic wars, and that is why unifying efforts between these countries is important in order to confront these wars, in addition to establishing a network of economic relations with countries that have the same principles and values, and then the West will become isolated.

President al-Assad thanked Belarus for standing by Syria in the face of the terrorist war it is exposed to through the firm stances of Belarus towards the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria, and its support for the steadfastness of the Syrian people.

In turn, the guest Prime Minister affirmed that the areas of cooperation with Syria are unlimited, pointing out that the institutions in Belarus have finished preparing files related to the establishment of a number of bilateral projects and the exchange of products that meet the needs of the two peoples, expressing his country’s aspiration for the continuation of meetings between the institutions in both countries in order to expand work sectors and re-activation of joint ventures.

Golovchenko considered that the world these days is witnessing the greatest  changes since World War II, as new unions and alliances are formed among countries that pursue policies independent of the West, pointing out that the Western campaign that Belarus was subjected to during the past two years was aimed at deteriorating living conditions and stopping economic facilities, this is apart from psychological warfare and media propaganda to influence people, expressing his appreciation for Damascus standing by Minsk during that difficult period, and stressing that the battle the two countries are fighting is one battle.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdel Latif, the Minister of Transport, Eng. Zuhair Khuzayem, Dr. Buthaina Shaaban, Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, Luna Al-Shibl, Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, and Dr. Louay Fallouh, Director of the Europe Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
