Syria and Belarus sign agreements in many fields

Syria and Belarus signed  six agreements and memoranda of understanding in the fields of trade exchange, education, housing, transport, industry and customs, at the conclusion of expanded official talks held by Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous and Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko and in the presence of the delegations of the two countries.

In a press statement following the signing of the agreements and memorandums of understanding, Engineer Arnous noted that the Republic of Belarus is a friendly country with which we have close and historical relations based on mutual respect, values, morals and keenness on joint work. The relations of joint cooperation between the two friendly countries are witnessing an increasing growth. The current challenges require more coordination and joint cooperation for the interest of the two countries’ friendly people in their quest to achieve stability and peace and to meet the requirements of sustainable development in all fields.

Arnous pointed out that a round of deep discussions was held during which a future work plan was laid down to ensure the deliberate and objective expansion of joint cooperation activities. The common concern to boost cooperation and the common desire to employ and manage the available  resources and capabilities in a way that maximizes the common benefit from them were emphasized.

Arnous noted that a number of cooperation formulas were signed in the fields of trade exchange, education, housing, transportation, industry, customs and other vital sectors that increase the economic cooperation between the two countries. The discussions also dealt with strengthening cooperation in the social, cultural and scientific development sector with the aim of benefiting from the human capital of the two friendly countries.

In turn, Golovchenko underscored the  high level of understanding between the two delegations, as we took the first steps to foster bilateral relations. He called on the international community to stand by Syria to bypass sanctions, fight terrorism and preserve national sovereignty.

Golovchenko added: The cooperation agreement between the two countries offers new horizons for consolidating relations, and all areas of cooperation were discussed, especially in the issue of providing Belarusian agricultural and industrial materials to Syria. We reached a general agreement that helps us overcome all difficulties. He stressed that Belarus has a plan to receive a number of Syrian children in the coming year within  its vision for humanitarian work in Syria and the development of social relations and it will continue to support Syria in all that is necessary.
