DPRK: Washington and Seoul’s efforts to impose sanctions fuel tension

On November 24th, the DPRK strongly criticized South Korea and the United States’ efforts to implement unilateral sanctions against it, stressing that it exacerbates tension on the Korean Peninsula.

“South Korea’s Foreign Ministry described our exercise of the right of self-defense as a military provocation, and it is considering imposing additional individual sanctions as long as we continue to do so,” the Korean Central News Agency quoted Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Workers’ Party of Korea Kim Yo Jong as saying in a statement.

“As soon as the United States called for sanctions against the DPRK, the puppets in South Korea imitate it dramatically, but the more Washington and its followers in Seoul insist on imposing sanctions against us, the more  our hostility and anger will escalate and  turn into a noose wrapped around their necks directly,” Kim Yo Jong said.

“They are idiots who do not know how-to live-in comfort and safety, as they see that sanctions can get them out of the current dangerous situation,”Kim Yo Jong continued.
