Cleaning the course of the Orontes River and rehabilitating a number of public parks in Hama

Hama City Council, in cooperation with the directorates of agriculture, technical services, water resources, and civil activities in the governorate, carried out service and beautification works, which included cleaning the course of the Orontes River, and rehabilitating a number of public parks in the city center.

Head of the city council, Eng. Mukhtar Hourani, explained that the bed of the Orontes River was cleaned, starting from its flow in the city of Hama at the site of the four waterwheels, all the way to Bab al-Nahr site, by means of mechanisms whose work focused on the areas of bottlenecks in the course of the river and its sides through removing the waste and weeds that impede the flow of the river, not to mention its environmental and health damage in addition to its impact on the aesthetic appearance of the city.

Meanwhile, work is under way to complete the rehabilitation of parks and green spaces throughout the city of Hama, especially its entrances and vital sites, in order to improve the aesthetic and civilized appearance.
