Kosachev: It is necessary to take into account the demographic factor during the voting at the United Nations
Moscow (ST): The Deputy Speaker of the Russian Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev, said that voting in the framework of the United Nations General Assembly should take into account the demographic factor.
“I think that sooner or later, within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly itself, a vote that takes into account the demographic factor will be allowed,” Kosachev said, according to TASS, pointing out that voting in the European Parliament takes into account the number of deputies representing a particular country in the population of this country.
He pointed out that while discussing the reform of the United Nations, the principle of one country and one vote should be preserved in the UN Security Council, and alternative voting models could be allowed in the UN General Assembly.
