Syrian-Jordanian talks to enhance cooperation in environmental field

Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Hussein Makhlouf, discussed with the Jordanian Minister of Environment, Dr. Muawiya Al-Radaydah, ways of cooperation and integration in the environmental fields to reduce the effects of climate change and dust storms, and to benefit from the experiences of both sides in this field. The discussions came on the sidelines of the participation in the 27th  Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention on Climate Change.

Makhlouf expressed his hope that the cooperation will result in joint works and projects that will have an impact in limiting climate changes and dust storms, which have begun to hit the region in abundance, and have significant effects on the environment.

For his part, Al-Radaydah underlined the importance of joint cooperation in this field, and the necessity of exchanging experiences that can be used to accomplish work in this regard.

The meeting was attended by Ministers of Energy, Mineral Resources, Water and Irrigation from the Jordanian side, and the Syrian Ambassador to Egypt and the Assistant Minister of Local Administration and Environment from the Syrian side.
