The West seeks to ignite a world war, says Medvedev

Moscow, (ST) – Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev affirmed that Western countries are seeking to ignite a third world war by escalating the conflict with Russia.

“The story of the Ukrainian missile strike on a Polish farm proves only one thing, which is that the West, through its war with Russia, increases the possibility of a world war,” Sputnik quoted Medvedev as saying on his Twitter account today.

Yesterday, Polish media reported that two missiles had fallen on the country’s territory near the Ukrainian border, while the Russian Ministry of Defense denied any strikes on targets near the Ukrainian-Polish border by its armed forces. It considered that the statements of Polish officials regarding allegations of Russian missiles falling on their lands are a major provocation for the purpose of escalation.
