Syrian Arab army nabs terrorists and repels infiltration bid from Lebanon— rockets hit Aleppo

PROVINCES,(ST)_Since a week, units of the armed forces have started carrying out what has been described by local media as ‘swift and tailored’ strikes against foreign-backed terrorists everywhere.

The strikes resulted so far in eliminating a large numbers of terrorists, mostly from al-Nusra Front, plus destroying a chunk of weapons and ammunitions in several provinces, mainly in Aleppo, Homs, Idlib, and Damascus countryside.

Unrelenting operations

Today, the armed forces killed 15 terrorists in operations launched in farms of Der Salman and al-Qasemeyeh in the eastern Ghouta outside Damascus and continued hunting down terrorists in the flashpoint areas of Barzeh, Jobar, Zamalka, Harasta, just few kilometers to the north-east of the Capital [Damascus] . 

They also shelled terrorists’ hideouts in al-Mliha area – around 10km to the south-east of Damascus- and in the southern countryside – towns of al-Hseneyeh and Hajjira- as well as in farms near Yabroud area and in bet Jen.

A host of terrorists, some belonging to al-Nusra Front, died and a big quantity of arms was destroyed in the said areas and in several areas outside Aleppo, Homs, Idlib and Der Ezzour provinces.

On the other hand, it was said that the armed forces and border guards mowed down many terrorists trying to infiltrate from Arsal area through Kherbet al-N’emat site outside al-Qusayr in Homs province.

More terrorists perished in a quarrel which erupted between them in al-Waer quarter in Homs city.

Seized Arms

However, in al-Hassaka province, precisely in al-Meshrfeh quarter, a quantity of weaponry was confiscated inside a hideout there.

“The armed forces confiscated PKC guns, 3 rifles, 3 pump action guns, 6 grenades and a quantity of munitions inside the hideout, eliminated 6 terrorists and nabbed 4 others,” an official source was quoted on the official news agency as saying.

Rockets kills 8 citizens wounds 27 others

In a separate incident, a terrorist attack flared in Efrin city outside Aleppo province when terrorists belonging to the so-called the ‘Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) fired 4 rockets on the city killing 7 citizens and wounding 20 others.  

Another citizen was martyred and 7 others wounded, including children, when a rocket –fired by terrorists- landed near al-Radwan Mosque in the city of Aleppo.
