The work of high-level ministerial meetings within the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change kicked off in Sharm El-Sheikh today.
The Syrian delegation headed by Eng. Hussein Makhlouf, Minister of Local Administration and Environment participated in the meetings.
Minister Makhlouf will participate in the first annual ministerial meeting entitled “Ambition before 2030”, and the fifth ministerial meeting to conduct a dialogue on “long-term financing for the climate”.
The dialogue aims to achieve the funding required to implement plans to adapt to climate change for developing countries.
It is noteworthy that the technical delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic has been participating since the beginning of the Climate Conference, which opened on November 6th and will continue until the eighteenth of this month.
