On November 13th, the Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Commission confirmed that the Israeli occupation authorities are still practicing a policy of deliberate medical neglect against Palestinian prisoners, in violation of international conventions and laws in this regard.
In a statement reported by Wafa Agency, the authority stated that the health condition of the prisoner, Musa Soufan, 47, from the city of Tulkarm, who has been detained since 2003, is deteriorating day after day, especially after discovering that he has a lung tumor.
The commission noted that he has lost a lot of weight and suffers from severe pains in the abdomen, his chest, hands and feet as a result of the failure of the occupation to treat him, which led to the deterioration of his condition.
The commission indicated that the health condition of prisoner Iyad Omar from Jenin camp, who also has a cancerous tumor, is deteriorating due to the occupation’s prevention of providing him with the necessary treatment.
The commission called on international institutions and organizations to urgently intervene and pressure the occupation to save their lives.
About five thousand Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails face harsh detention conditions, including about 600 prisoners who need urgent medical intervention.
