Tehran: The positions of the German chancellor against us are provocative and interventionist

On November 13th, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani criticized German Chancellor Olaf Schultz’s recent stances against Iran, describing them as “interventionary, provocative and non-diplomatic.”

“Iran has always relied on the principle of responsibility in adhering to the basic principles of human rights, including preserving human dignity, confronting tyranny and injustice, and defending the oppressed, while Germany evades its international responsibility with regard to respecting the sovereignty of states through shelter and embrace terrorist and separatist anti-Iranian groups,”the Iranian news agency, IRNA, quoted Kanaani as saying.

Kanani called on the German authorities to adopt rationality in bilateral relations and prevent further confusion in them, stressing that respect and common interests are two important assets for sustainable cooperation.

Yesterday, German Chancellor Olaf Schultz said on  twitter: “Next week he will support the imposition of the new round of sanctions on Iran by the European Union.”
