21 countries take part in the International Charity Bazaar in Damascus

The International Charity Bazaar, organized by the Diplomatic Club in Syria in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, was inaugurated on Saturday at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.

21 countries are taking part in this charity event.

Mrs. Radiante Fawzi, Head of the Diplomatic Club and wife of the Indonesian Ambassador in Damascus, told a SANA reporter that the bazaar is the biggest fundraising event by the diplomatic missions in Syria, pointing out that its proceeds will go to charities in Syria’s Homs province that have limited sources of revenues.

On her part, the Honorary President of the Diplomatic Club Shukriya Al-Mikdad said that the bazaar is important as it brings together representatives of several countries as well as charities in the Syrian governorates and joint commissions to work for a common goal.

She added that the bazaar signals recovery from the terrorist war on Syria and indicates that security has been restored to most parts of the homeland.

The event aims at assisting the Syrian society as its proceeds will go to charities that are concerned with empowering breadwinning women.

Algeria, Armenia, Belgium, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bahrain, Bulgaria, Belarus, Indonesia, India, Ireland, Palestine, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Venezuela and Syria are taking part in the event.
