Syria actively engaged in chemical arms scrapping, important not to lose pace – Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin hopes that the process of elimination of Syrian chemical weapons will not lose pace, according to Voice of Russia, Interfax.

“We have agreed with our US partners on what we should do [to resolve the Syrian situation] and how to do so in the medium-term. Doubts about the appropriate reaction of the Syrian authorities to the decisions on their chemical weapons proved unfounded. The Syrian administration has energetically involved itself in this work and its actions are exceedingly transparent. Hopefully, the work will continue at the same pace and in the same fashion,” Putin told a press conference after the APEC Bali summit.
