Syrian parliament Commemorated October Liberation War Anniversary

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ In its yesterday ‘s meeting, under the chairmanship of  its Speaker Mohammed Jihad Lahham, the Syrian people ‘s Assembly  hailed the  anniversary of the October War and the heroic achievements  of our armed forces at the national and Arab levels.

Lahham  pointed out ,in a statement read during the meeting,  that the October Liberation War led by late  leader Hafez al-Assad put an end to the American-Zionist arrogance and domination and returned confidence to the Arab nation in the ability of the Arab man  to achieve victory and break the arrogance of the occupier,  thanks to sacrifices of the Syrian martyrs who  defended  the honor of the nation .

He  pointed out that   the victory of October ” recalls  back the days, when the Arab will was united  achieved victory   and forced the  major powers to hear the voice of rightful when the  Arab armies had one destination , and one enemy which  namely  the Israeli occupation , which it could destroy.

Lahham also pointed out  that some Arab regimes have today , ” Other  enemies and turned to the financing of terrorists in Syria ,providing  them with arms, in the  service of the Zionist entity ,” stressing that the Syrians  will remain strong, fighting enemies , whether they are fighting under the banner of the  Israeli occupation entity  or fighting under the banner of al-Qaeda  terrorist organization,” highlighting  the heroism  and  sacrifices of the Syrian Arab army , which underlines today the  epics of  victory over terrorism as it did in October liberation war .

He  stressed the necessity of activating work of the Permanent  Committees of Parliament and the commitment of all its members to  scheduled meetings , work on activating Members’ interventions and discourses conducive to  the drafting  of laws side by side with the executive authority  in the service of the homeland and the citizen .

Parliament  member Maher Al – Hajjar noted the need of  supporting  farmers to implement the  current agricultural season plan in light of the difficult economic conditions experienced by citizens and  the crisis experienced by the country .

Parliamentarian Omar Hamdo pointed  the need to develop a solution for all service and economic problems plaguing the province of Aleppo  as a result of the siege by armed terrorist groups , particularly after the Syrian Arab Army opened  Khanasser – Sfeira road  in  Aleppo , which is an important vital artery for the province.
