President Al-Assad: Heinous Campaign against Syria Won’t Change its Nationalist Firm Principles

DAMASCUS, (ST) – President Bashar Al-Assad has stressed that the heinous campaign against Syria won’t change Syria’s firm and nationalist principles, stressing that the Palestinian cause and the adherence to the historical and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people will continue to be among Syria’s top priorities

President Al-Assad’s remarks were made during H.E’s meeting with Abbas Zaki, the Special Envoy of the Palestinian Authority’s President Mahmoud Abbas.

The President affirmed that the ongoing events in Syria haven’t changed the Syrian people’s behavior towards their Palestinian brothers living in the country. On the contrary, the events strengthened the cohesion among the Palestinians and the Syrians in the confrontation of the terrorist attacks targeting both of them.

For his part, Zaki reiterated the Palestinian people’s solidarity with Syria in the face of the aggression which aims at undermining the Syrian state.

“Targeting Syria means targeting the Arab nation, because exhausting the abilities of the Syrian people and army comes within the context of a bigger scheme that aims at fragmenting and weakening the region to serve Israel’s interests,” Zaki said.
