On November 7th, Syria expressed its supportive stance for the Cuban people and their leadership against all forms of embargo and economic pressures they are subjected to.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said on its Twitter account: “On the occasion of the issuance of the United Nations General Assembly resolution on 3/11/2022 calling for an end to the economic embargo imposed by the United States on Cuba, Syria renews its position in support of the Cuban people and their leadership in the face of all forms of embargo and economic pressures that subjected to it.”
The Ministry explained that the vote of 185 countries in favor of the resolution reflects an absolute rejection of the policy of economic sanctions, which will only increase suffering, create an atmosphere of instability in the international community, and threaten international peace and security.
The Ministry stressed that the economic embargo imposed by the United States and some of its allies on many peoples of the world is inhuman and immoral and must be stopped immediately.
