PROVINCES,(ST)_A terrorist attack has taken place in the capital [Damascus] while the armed forces have eliminated a host of foreign-backed terrorists in accurate operations in the provinces of Aleppo, Idlib, Hama and Damascus countryside.
Today, the terrorists fired several shells on al-Qassa’a quarter, to the east of Damascus, killing at least 8 citizens and wounding 24 others.
A police command source was quoted on the official news agency as saying: “Three shells landed on the intersection of the French hospital and al-Qassa’a Street, leaving 8 citizens martyred and 24 others wounded,” noting that a fourth shell hit the Holy Cross Church causing damages at the scene.
Several shops and cars were also damaged.
Snipers killed
This terrorist attack came as the armed forces were carrying out tailored operations in quarters of Barzeh, al-Qabon and Jobar, to the north-east of Damascus, where 3 snipers and many terrorists were eliminated.
More terrorists were crushed in the areas of Zamalka, Duma, al-Mliha, and Darayya when the armed forces shelled hideouts and groupings there.
18 weapons-laden cars
A hideout of terrorists from al-Nusra Front and 2 weapons-laden cars were destroyed in Yabroud area, around 75 km to the north-east of Damascus.
Other 16 cars loaded with arms and munitions for terrorists were targeted outside Aleppo and Idlib provinces amid reports of wiping out an unknown number of terrorist groupings in more than 12 locations in Aleppo countryside.
However, in Salaheddin quarter in Aleppo city, the armed forces clashed with terrorists trying to infiltrate into safe areas.
Three terrorists died in the clash, a military source confirmed.
Ambush
In a further development, the armed forces ambushed an armed terrorist group near the junction of Kafra’a town in northern Hama countryside, killing all the group’s members.
A terrorist of Nigerian nationality was among the dead.
Saraqeb-Aleppo road
On Saraqeb-Aleppo road, precisely near ICARDA building, the armed forces eliminated dozens of terrorists belonging to the so-called ‘Ahrar al-sham’ and al-Nusra Front.
A military source announced names of 11 terrorists of Iraqi, Libyan, Tunisian nationalities who perished in the said area (On Saraqeb-Aleppo) and in al-Zerbeh town outside Saraqeb in Idlib province.
It noted that terrorist groupings were wiped out in 8 towns- Hloz, Alyeh, Janodeyeh, Kastan, Kafr Ewed, Kafr Shlaya, Ma’ar Debsi and Bnin.
Terrorists quarrel
The source, in addition, noted that many terrorists from the so-called ‘Soqor al-Sham’ brigade and ‘al-Fajr’ brigade were mowed down in a quarrel which erupted between them in Basqala town in Ma’arret al-No’aman area.
Elsewhere, the armed forces eliminated large numbers of terrorists in 11 locations in central Homs province and in 3 areas in southern Daraa province.
At night, it was reported that a citizen was wounded when a mortar shell- fired by terrorists- landed in the surroundings of the Catholic Church in Izra’a city in Daraa province.
