Alouk water station stops working again because of attacks by the Turkish occupation’s mercenaries

Again, the electric power lines feeding Alouk water station in Hasakah countryside have come under attacks by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation positioned in the occupied city of Ras Al-Ayn, causing the water station to cease functioning.

In a statement to the Syrian Arab news Agency (SANA), Director of the Hasaka Water Establishment Mahmoud Al-Okla said that the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation renewed their attacks on the electric power lines coming from Al-Dirbasiya power station to feed Alouk water station, causing repeated power cuts that led the water station to stop working since last Wednesday.

Alouk water station remains a key source of water that provides clean drinking water to around one million citizens in the Syrian city of Hasakah.

According to Al-Okla, Alouk station will not operate at its normal production capacity, which provides about 60,000 cubic meters of water per day, unless such attacks come to an end and the establishment’s maintenance teams are able to enter the station to fix the damage and repair the malfunctions that occurred in the wells’ submersible pumps and other electrical and mechanical equipment.

He pointed out that the maintenance teams continue to spare no effort as to find suitable solutions to re-operate the water station and restore water supplies to citizens.

On October 19th, the Water Establishment in Hasakah announced the reoperation of Alouk water station after a 3-month stoppage due to the attacks of the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation on the station and the electric power lines feeding it.
