Syrian culture celebrates its creators and awards them the State Appreciation Award for the year 2022

The Ministry of Culture continues to sponsor creativity and celebrate its creators, in appreciation of the role they play in advancing the cultural movement and enriching it with their distinguished works. Today, Culture Ministry honored the winners of the State Appreciation Award for the year 2022, at the Ministry’s building in Damascus.
The Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushawah, presented commemorative medals to the creative writer Farhan Bulbul in the field of literature, the plastic artist Dr. Muhammad Ghanoum in the field of arts, and Dr. Fayez Al-Daya in the field of criticism, studies and translation.
The Minister of Culture praised the efforts of the honorees, which are a source of knowledge, intellectual and creative glimmer, which affected the Syrian cultural scene with present fingerprints.
For his part, the writer Farhan Bulbul considered that this honor has a distinct taste despite being honored in a number of Arab and international countries, because of the respect for creators, and he said: I worked throughout the years of my life and did not think of honoring, but I offer what I should do.
The writer Farhan Bulbul, the son of the city of Homs, was born in 1937. He graduated from the University of Damascus in 1960, the Department of Arabic Language. He began working in the theater in 1968. He became a member of the Arab Writers Union in 1971. He wrote many plays amounting to 37, of which 32 have been published, and 5 are about to be published.
For his part, the plastic artist, Dr. Muhammad Ghannoum, stressed that this honor from the homeland invests him with greater responsibilities to pay some debts owed to his country. Dr. Muhammad Ghanoum, born in Damascus in 1949, is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University, Department of Interior Design, and holds a PhD in Art Sciences from Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1992.
In turn, Dr. Fayez Al-Daya said: After a fifty-year work in thought, culture and science, now is the harvest season of our work, and a prelude to building the future.
Dr. Fayez al-Daya was born in Douma in Damascus countryside in 1947. He holds a Ph.D., from Cairo University in 1978. He is a professor of criticism, rhetoric and semantics at the University of Aleppo, Faculty of Arts.
It is noteworthy that the State Appreciation Award was established pursuant to Legislative Decree No. 11 of 2012, in the field of literature and arts for creators, thinkers and artists, in appreciation of their creative, intellectual and artistic giving. Over the 11 years, it was awarded to thirty-three intellectual and artistic personalities.
