Al-Miqdad and Velayati confirm the depth of the historical relations linking Syria and Iran

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, discussed with the Advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran for International Affairs, Dr. Ali Akbar Velayati, the strategic bilateral relations between Syria and Iran, the latest developments on the regional and international arenas, and the coordination of common positions between the two friendly countries.
During the meeting in Tehran today, Al-Miqdad stressed the historical depth of the Syrian-Iranian relations, which has reached a stage that has become difficult to undermine, thanks to the steadfastness of the peoples of the two countries and the wisdom of their leadership.
Al-Miqdad praised the wisdom of the Iranian leadership in its handling of the recent events on the Iranian arena, those events which have been instigated and supported by Western powers and the Israeli occupation entity.
For his part, Velayati affirmed Iran’s adherence to standing firmly by Syria’s leadership and people and continuing the Iranian firm support for Syria at all levels, praising the achievements of the Syrian Arab Army and the axis of resistance in the face of terrorism, which established a new phase of cooperation between the two countries in all fields.NR
