President Raisi to Mikdad: Iran supports Syria in the war on terror

Tehran, SANA-President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, described as “strategic” the relations between Syria and Iran, affirming the need for boosting and developing these relations in all domains.

“Iran is determined to support Syria in the war on terror from one side, and to confront the unilateral, illegitimate measures imposed on the country from another side,” President Raisi, meeting Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad said on Wednesday.

He added that Syria’s security, sovereignty and role in the region is an important and pivotal issue for Iran.

President Raisi conveyed Minister Mikdad his thanks and greetings to President Bashar al-Assad for his support to Iran’s stability and Security.

Mikdad, in turn, conveyed a message of solidarity from the Syrian Arab Republic, as government and people, to Raisi. The message includes Syria’s determination to stand by Iran against all US, Israeli and western acts that aim to destabilize the country.

The Foreign Minister condemned the Western-Israeli plots that target Iran’s resilience and its stances in support of the Resistance axis.
