Homs (ST): To celebrate Arab Child Day, the Directorate of Culture of Homs, in cooperation with the Directorate of Social Affairs, and the Life Skills Team of the Directorate of Child Culture, chose the Institute of Special Education for Hearing Impairment in Al-Waer District, to hold their event, with the participation of thirty-eight children who expressed their joy in sign language.
The event began with the Syrian Arab anthem presented by the children in sign language, then the celebration began with dancing paragraphs for young people through folk and expressive art, and a pantomime sketch presented by the institute’s children on respecting the elderly and caring for the young.
The activities also included a group drawing workshop and artworks with clay within an exhibition that embraced these works, in which talented children expressed nature, the four seasons and the joy of childhood.
The head of the life skills team, Saba Wassouf, explained in a statement that the event targeted children with hearing disabilities who are no different from their healthy peers in creativity, and presenting everything that is beautiful through sign language.
