Jumaa discusses with the Iranian side ways to strengthen strategic relations between Damascus and Tehran

Tehran (ST): Dr. Haifa Juma’a, a member of the People’s Assembly and Vice Chairman of the Syrian-Iranian Friendship Committee, discussed with Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian in Tehran ways to enhance bilateral relations, while she discussed with the Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Vahid Jalalzadeh ways to develop economic relations.
During her meeting with Abdullahian, Jomaa said: “These relations are an alliance of the will that is consolidated in all fields, social and cultural, through the exchange of visits and delegations, especially the economic one, and the activation of the agreements concluded between Syria and Iran.”
Jomaa stressed the role of the media in resisting Western media, explaining that scientific cooperation, technology transfer, and exchange of experiences between the People’s Assembly and the Iranian Shura Council are among the objectives of this visit.
In turn, Abdullahian referred to the prominent role played by the joint friendship committees between the two sides in developing bilateral relations, expressing the possibility of establishing an advanced scientific and technical research center in Syria with the aim of enhancing scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries.
In the same context, Jomaa and Jalalzadeh discussed ways to develop economic relations between the two countries to rise to the level of political relations and open new horizons in the interest of both countries, especially that relations between Damascus and Tehran are based on respect, calling for overcoming difficulties regarding trade exchange, encouraging industries and exchanging experiences.
