Despite the US embargo, the percentage of foreign investments in Iran is on the rise

A report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) stated that the volume of foreign direct investment in Iran increased by 18.6 percent during the past year compared to the previous year.
The Iranian Fars news agency quoted the report as saying: “In 2021, the volume of these investments amounted to one billion and 425 million dollars, an increase of 83 million dollars over the year 2020, noting that this increase came after foreign investments in Iran witnessed a decline in the years 2018 and 2019 and 2020 by 30, 36.4 and 11 percent, respectively.
The decline in foreign investments in Iranian markets over the past years came as a result of the continuing unjust embargo imposed by the United States on Iran because of its policies rejecting Western hegemony.
