Moscow, (ST) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bogdanov affirmed that his country will help African countries regarding the grain deal. He pointed to the partners’ understanding of the Russian position.
In response to a question by Sputnik if Russia would help African countries, Bogdanov said that we are in contact with the leaders of many countries. “Such contacts are ongoing and will continue and we will provide assistance as much as possible”, he added.
“I think they understand everything perfectly and have information about the status of the deal and developments in it,” the Russian deputy foreign minister said.
On July 22, Russia, Ukraine and Turkey signed an initiative brokered by the United Nations to provide a humanitarian sea corridor for ships exporting food and fertilizers from Ukraine’s ports on the Black Sea.
Moscow recently decided to suspend its participation in the grain deal signed last July, in response to the Ukrainian terrorist attack on the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
