The Russian ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, affirmed that the suspension of his country’s participation in the grain deal across the Black Sea resulted from an irresponsible act by the Ukrainian authorities, pointing out that blaming Russia in this regard is unfair.
Russia on Saturday announced the suspension of its participation in the grain deal across the Black Sea after the terrorist attack launched by the forces of the Kiev regime, with the participation of British experts against the ships of the Black Sea Fleet, and civilian ships participating in ensuring the security of the grain corridor.
“Washington’s reaction to the terrorist attack on the port of Sevastopol is truly outrageous, as we have not witnessed any condemnation of the reckless actions of the Kiev regime,” Sputnik quoted Antonov as saying in press statements 0n Saturday.
Antonov pointed out that there is complete disregard for the evidence revealed of the involvement of British military specialists in organizing the drone attack, indicating that Russia cannot continue its participation in the grain initiative, amid serious security concerns.
Antonov noted that the suspension of the implementation of the grain deal occurred due to the reckless actions of the Ukrainian authorities and it is not fair to condemn Russia in this context. He added that “for insinuations about spreading hunger globally, we would like to mention our repeated calls to send food shipments first and foremost to countries in need, but most of the dry cargo ships as part of the grain deal went to developed countries.”
Earlier today, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev confirmed his country’s readiness to fully compensate for Ukrainian grain on the world market.
