President al-Assad participates in launching the first phase of operating turbine compressors in a gas plant in the south of the central region

President Bashar al-Assad visited this morning a gas plant in the south of the central region, and participated with the workers and technicians in the launching of the first phase of operating the newly installed turbine compressors in the plant, with the aim of increasing production by about 500 thousand cubic meters of gas per day, which will be reflected in the coming period in an increase in the production of electricity stations and an increase in the quantities of domestic gas production.
During his visit to the plant, President al-Assad, accompanied by the Prime Minister and Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, listened to an explanation from the director of the Syrian Gas Company and the director of the plant about the function of these compressors in increasing production and their impact on the status quo of energy in Syria.
In his conversation with workers and technicians, President al-Assad praised their efforts in accomplishing this national work, and their role in preserving and protecting this vital facility during the years of war.
President al-Assad had inaugurated a gas plant in the south of the central region in 2009, but during the years of the war on Syria, the plant was subjected to several terrorist and sabotage attacks.
