The Damascus Countryside Governorate forms a committee to supervise and follow up on returning families to the Ain al-Fijah area
On October 26th, the Damascus Countryside Governorate formed a committee to directly supervise and follow up on the work of service institutions in the Ain al-Fijah area, with the aim of speeding this work up for the return of the people.
The Governor of Damascus Countryside, Safwan Abu Saada, held a meeting with directors of service institutions in the governorate, members of the specialized executive office, and the elected head of the local council in Ain al-Fijah.
The Governor urged for the completion of the rehabilitation of infrastructure, and for providing the necessary services that would enable450 families to return quickly to their homes.
The Governor stressed the need for the committee to supervise directly, the implementation of the work of the workshops, and to coordinate fully with the directors of electricity, water, sewage, and others, in order to secure the necessary services and infrastructure.
The Governor called on the Director of the Water and the Sanitation Companyfor the preparation of an integrated study, to establish local sewage treatment plants that will achieve technical integrity, and to repair water networks that will serve the returning residents, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 1 of 2018.
