Hasakah , (ST) – The Governor of Hasakah, Dr. Louay Sayoh discussed during his meeting on Monday with the Regional Director of the World Food Program Kenneth Ray Crossley, and his accompanying delegation, means of enhancing joint cooperation in the aspects of bakeries, agriculture, electricity and food aid.
The Governor of Hasakah indicated the importance of developing the existing cooperation, especially in the agricultural aspect, by increasing livelihood projects, including raising poultry, sheep and home gardens. He also stressed the importance of supporting the bakery sector by increasing production lines, and securing necessary supplies for work.
The governor pointed to the need to increase the governorate’s share of food baskets, and to pay attention to their quality, as a result of the increasing needs of citizens, the difficult living conditions, and the high costs in light of the unjust siege imposed by the US.
The Regional Director stressed the importance of continuing joint coordination with the relief sub-committee, to identify the needs of the people of Hasakah Governorate, in light of the increasing need for aid.
Crossley pointed out that work will be done to secure 50 tons of yeast during the coming period, and quantities of flour for public bakeries, and strive to provide the needs of some service departments, as available.
