Russian security thwarts an ISIS terrorist plot in Pyatigorsk
Moscow, (ST) – The Russian Federal Security Service announced on Monday the arrest of two people affiliated with the terrorist organization “ISIS”, who were planning terrorist operations in Pyatigorsk.
Sputnik quoted a statement of the agency as saying that a terrorist act was thwarted in the Stavropol Territory in Pyatigorsk, where the criminal activity of a cell of members of the terrorist organization ISIS, which is banned in Russia and many countries, was revealed.
The statement said that the cell included citizens of the Central Asian republics, who planned to blow up the city police department on the instructions of foreign terrorist leaders.
The statement indicated that during the inspections, a bomb and other tools were confiscated. It pointed out that the security authorities opened an investigation to find out their intentions through correspondence with their supervisors abroad.
